How do I care for my pearl jewelry?
Personal care products and cosmetics can dramatically dull the luster of a pearl. You should put your pearls on after at least 30 minutes of applying make up, perfume, or any personal care products.
Perspiration and body oil can also damage pearls. Wipe your pearl jewelry with a soft and clean cloth after each wear to remove harmful chemicals from the surface of the pearls. The cloth can be dampened or dry. If you use a water-dampened cloth, allow the pearls air dry before putting them away.
DO NOT use ultrasound jewelry cleaner for pearl cleaning.
How do I store my pearl jewelry? Before you store your pearl jewelry, please make sure the surface is clean.
Pearl’s surface is easy to get scratched; you should avoid putting your pearls with other jewelries or with abrasive materials. Depends on the jewelry type, each pearl jewelry from Orilily comes with an original package that you can use to store your pearl jewelries. Or you can find a special slot in your jewelry box to store your pearl necklace.
Store your fine jewelry in a safe place and always keep your pearls away from children.
When should I have my pearl necklace restrung? Inspect your pearl necklace at least one a month for weakness or damage.
We recommend that you have your pearl necklace restrung periodically to make sure the silk cord holding the pearls is in good shape. In general, every four to six months should be fine. Of course, the more often you wear it, the more often you should have it restrung.
